The following is a very disturbing testimony that a reader named Leo recently sent in: Hi, I was searching on line regarding Bell's palsy that I was diagnosticed last Nov 26 after Thanksgiving day, I did received the flu and H1N1 vaccine about 2 weeks ago in the place that work which is kind a mandatory for the type of patients that we care, any way I didn't feel any side effect until 5 days ago when I started having some kind of sore throat and headache in the back of my left ear, well the Thanksgiving day the pain was excruciating I couldn't sleep at all I took pain medication OTC but nothing helped me at that time, and the worse when I woke up next day the whole left side of my face was paralized I called 911 thinking I was having some kind of Stroke they took me inmediality to the nearest trauma hospital with "Stroke Alert" they did everything for me including an MRI and I was so furtunated that the MRI was negative for Stroke or TIA but after I describe the secuence of my symptoms the doctors told me that I was having Bell's Palsy that usually comes after a viral infection such a "cold sores" but my question was that I didn't have a cold sore probably 6 months ago o more so that didn't really click with my story.
Any way to final line about this problem is that when I got the vaccine NO ONE informed me regarding this possible side effect I was asked only if was allergic to eggs or chiken and some medication that I don't remember the name at this point but once again no one told me anything regarding this side effect. I consider this issue totally unfair, because we should be instructed regarding every possible side effect before to decide if this right for me or not.
Now I have half of my face paralized and need to still go to work with left tearing at all the time so I can be expouse to any accident and my job it has to be done in computers how I am going to achieve this, and what about my selfsteem I have to deal with this for how long I don't know but I will love to have any coment from who make this vaccine .

I got the flu shot in late September got sick in November suffered a respiratory infection next thing you know in January I woke up with Bell’s Palsy. I have never had the FLU shot before this is the only thing I could think of that I could have got it from. If I am sick I usually recover quickly but I had this lingering cough and congestion for over a month.
I just started to research online the possible side effects of the H1N1 Vaccine and to see if there is anyone else out there having the same issues I am since getting the vaccine in October 2009.
I had a Bone Marrow Transplant in October 2003 and the doctors wanted me to get the flu vaccines each year. I would get them even though they made me sick, sometimes for 3 days other times it would take weeks to feel better, but I thought it would be better then getting the flu and actually dying from it. Then in 2008 we decided to do 1/2 a dose at a time. This still made me sick after but not as severe, but I had decided that I wouldn’t get the other half of the dose.
Then the H1N1 scare came around and the doctors really wanted me to get the flu shot and the H1N1 shot. I had actually just starting feeling good, like my old self (before I got sick), that summer and I was so excited! I had even started a part time job and felt great, until I made the stupid mistake of getting the shots!
I started with my half dose of the flu shot first and to my amazement I was only sick for a few days.We decided to get a half shot of the H1N1 as well, BIG MISTAKE! I knew something was wrong when symptoms started in like 30 minutes after getting the shot. I started to get chills, and a headache a just started feeling funny. I had to leave work and I never was able to go back. From there it went to severe joint pain,nausea,fatigue,chills,weakness,you name it I had it. It got so bad that I had to be checked to see if I actually had H1N1 because all my symptoms matched it. I have not felt right since that day. I feel like I have the flu everyday bascially. I am no where near the person I was before that shot. I’ve told all my doctors this but I don’t think they know what to do. I am someone that is always doing something and kept a clean house and it takes everything I have to do my day to day stuff and most times this doesn’t even get done. I hardly leave the house unless it’s to go to the doctors or something. I have no doubt that H1N1 shot has done this, now how do I fix it??? If ANYONE knows what if anything can help please let me know. I pray that each of you that are having problems get better too.
