So i dont get flu shots but am getting over the flu and having pretty bad bilateral leg pain. stretching massage and warmth help but only for short time. i am very active so i attritbute it to lack of movement for so long. time will tell if the flu is linked to it. dont know what kind of flu i had but i know many people are testing pos for h1n1. my legs are just very stiff achy and almost like bone pain rather than muscle pain

I HAVE BEEN READING THESE STORIES AND NOW YOU HAVE ME THINKING. I HAVE HAD EPISODES OF BACK PAIN SINCE 2009 (BULGING DISC L4/L5/S1). I WENT TO MY DR WITH LOWER BK PAIN ON NOV 7TH 2011. AT THAT TIME I WAS GIVEN THE FLU SHOT (FIRST TIME FOR ME). I WAS ALSO GIVEN RX'S FOR MY BK PAIN. MY BK PAIN CONTINUED TO GET WORSE AND I DEVELOPED SCIATICA A FEW WEEKS AFTER WITH SHARP STABBING PAINS THRU THIGH AND CALF. I TRIED MASSAGE AND CHIROPRACTIC CARE WITH NO RELIEF AND WORSENING OF PAIN AND SYMPTOMS BUT ALL THRU THIS I HAVE BEEN TELLING DRS IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE BIG KNOTS IN MY THIGH MUSCLE AND ESPECIALLY IN MY CALF. I CANNOT PUT WEIGHT ON MY LEG NOW AND HAVE MISSED WORK...SEEING DR AT THE PAIN MANAGEMENT PLACE THIS WEEK...COULD THE FLU SHOT REALLY HAVE ADDED TO OR CREATED MY LEG PROBLEMS WITH THE SCIATICA????

I received my shot on Oct 19th. Still have severe back and sciatic pain on the right side and it's been almost 3 weeks. I've always been an avid exerciser and this has really put a stop to it. First I thought it was a urinary tract infection-no. I've had epideral injections on my left side for sciatic pain and have not had anymore problems. This pain is a different type-dull ache to severe stabbing pain. Thinking about going back to my Dr. First time I went just got shot and was told to take it easy for a few days. It's not helping! Any advice would be much appreciated!

I had a flu shot 10/11/11 and woke up last night with a severe right inner thigh cramp, which did feel like my leg was being torn apart. I barely got out of bed, couldn't walk, couldn't stand without holding on to the dresser. Finally I walked without relief, it went down into my right calf and foot. The whole leg was tightened up and I was dizzy and sweating. I wanted to scream out with excruciating pain and thought I was going to need an ambulance. Finally got a cold cloth on my neck, opened the window, put on the ceiling fan and applied a heating pad. After about 5-8 min the pain started to receed. Next day I can still feel a tenderness and hope it doesn't happen again.

It’s been five days since I got the shot.
I've had numbness in the arm of the injection, pain in my leg, neck, back and mild cold symptoms. All symptoms have since gone away except the pain in my neck, back, leg and ankle. I'm hoping it goes away soon.

I got the seasonal flu shot on 12/11/10, and that night when I lifted my leg to turn over in the bed it felt like I tore my thigh muscle in half. The pain subsided as I continued to lie still. It happened again the next night, so the next night before I went to bed I did some serious stretching with a heating pad on my thigh. It did not happen again, but I did feel like my calf might knot up. Today, 12/14/10, I am fine and hope all will be well tonight. Would love to hear from anybody else regarding similar experiences.

I have seen rheumatologist, neurologist, dermatologist, oncologist, pain physician, and have severe bilateral leg pain ever since I took the shot. I also can't sleep, because of the pain, and if I do fall asleep, the pain wakes me up early. For four months nobody can't find the answer. I am physician and this is even more frustrating.

I just came back from the hospital where I've visited my cousin (in London, UK). She had

the H1N1 vaccination earlier this year (2010). She is completely paralysed from her

middle down to the toes and it's already been a week. She has no feeling and no movement

at all in her legs. That's what made me start my research.

please have a look at the google search results and see how likely it is to be linked:
http://www.google.co.uk/#q=flu+vaccine+2010+paralysis

Her condition started by strong pain in the legs that just got worse when she lied down.

She gradually lost the use of her legs within the following 20minutes until she had no use

of them at all and also no feeling in them.

Obviously we have no proof that this is due to her vaccination earlier this year but I

assume it seems like the only "more obvious" reason at all.

She was perfectly healthy before this happened (at 34yrs of age)
